Bill: Democracy Adjustment Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: Parti Democratiqué Populaire

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: August 4146

Description[?]:

Kanjor is a pluralistic and vibrant democracy. We believe in simplifying the function of the democratic institution by legislating a gurantee for stable majorities.

During fascism democracy was unthinkable of - today we are a vibrant one after just three decades. It might seem unthinkable that the left-wing winds will ever come to an end but just like the processes of secularization, industrialization and democratization - nothing lasts forever. Our point is that old orders often come to an end and as we are a country with two serious government alternatives for voters - we would like to ensure all people participating in the democratic process that the government of Kanjor most likely will be a stable and functioning one. A situation with equally as many seats for the blocks might seem like a far-away scenario - but it is nevertheless possible.

We want to propose an uneven number of Sénate seats amounting to 749 instead of the current number, so that there can be no situations where there is no parliamentary mandate. It would require 375 Sénate votes to pass bills with 374 not being enough - and make Sénate dysfunction more difficult.

Parti de Renevoullement de Kanjor proposes to the members of the Sénate the following bill, proposing the following:

Random fact: "OOC", "IC" and "IG" are commonly-used acronyms in Particracy. "OOC" refers to comments, discussions and actions which are out-of-character, meaning they are done player-to-player rather than party-to-party. "IC" refers to in-character interactions (ie. party-to-party). Similarly, "IG" means in-game, although this term may also simply refer to what happens in the actual game interface, as opposed to on the forum or elsewhere. "RP" just means "role-play".
