Bill: A profitable future

Details

Submitted by[?]: Likaton Fascist Front

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: July 2182

Description[?]:

Kristin Lund, acting leader of TOTAL asks the convocation to consider the following.
We propose several changes to unshackle the Likatonian economy and removing unecessary government intervention.
1. Removal of the child benefit will allow us to cust welfare spending. This will also have an effect of reducing family size and in the long run will allow a wealthier society as the generated wealth will not need to be dispursed among many children, along with a lessened environmental and infrastructure impact.
2 and 3. Remove unecessary regulation and funding, and allow the market to decide. If the public wants environmentally sound products it will create the demand for companies to satisfy.

Random fact: Voters have an extra appreciation for bills that actually get passed, so if you want to maximally take profit from your votes, make sure you compromise with others.

Random quote: "Who are the militia? Are they not ourselves? Is it feared, then, that we shall turn our arms each man gainst his own bosom. Congress have no power to disarm the militia. Their swords, and every other terrible implement of the soldier, are the birthright of an American...[T]he unlimited power of the sword is not in the hands of either the federal or state governments, but, where I trust in God it will ever remain, in the hands of the people." - Tenche Coxe
