| Wild animals are, from our point of view, savages. And any wild animal must live totally free in its habitat. We summarize in 4 reasons why wild animals should not be treated as domestic animals: 1. When you buy wild animals you contribute to poaching. Even when acquired legally, it contributes to the breeding of wild species belonging to a non-domestic habitat. 2. Keeping any type of wild animal in captivity is illogical as it is not possible to domesticate a wild animal. Domestication is a process that takes centuries to develop into a species. 3. Wild animals bring diseases. Many wild animals can have diseases like rabies without showing symptoms. According to the Centers for Diesease Control and Prevention in the United States, thousands of people are infected with salmonella because they have reptiles or amphibians. Bringing an animal to your home exposes your entire family. 4. Do not always stay small. When animals grow, their wild instincts are inevitable. They probably end up destroying objects in the house where they are or attacking someone. The worst thing is that "domesticated" wild animals can not be returned to their natural habitat because they do not develop their survival skills while in captivity. |
