Bill: Work Rehabilitation Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Maroon Party
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: November 2060
Description[?]:
Prison is a form of rehabilitation as well as a form of punishment. Prisoners should work to pay off their debt to the person they wronged. We propose that prisoners be required to work in order to pay retribution to those that they wronged. Japan has a similar program, and due to such, is the only industrial nation with a successful rehabilitation program. By making prisoners work to pay restitution, rather than just for their own wage, we are showing them that they had, in fact, harmed someone. This is important for rehabilitating them, while at the same time being fair to victims. |
