Bill: Minority Protection Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: Maroon Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: March 2061

Description[?]:

We desire to create an electoral system in order to protect the interests of Miktar, Mothar, and Largonia against the sheer populational advantage of Dorvan and Kordusia. Every region has sheer and distinct interests that need to be represented to prevent any region from getting out of hand. I propose that we create a system similar to the American system, which is the world's oldest surviving electoral system for a reason.

We must balance majority rule with minority rights. This new electoral system will grant that balance.

Random fact: Particracy allows you to establish an unelected head of state like a monarch or a president-for-life, but doing this is a bit of a process. First elect a candidate with the name "." to the Head of State position. Then change your law on the "Structure of the executive branch" to "The head of state is hereditary and symbolic; the head of government chairs the cabinet" and change the "formal title of the head of state" to how you want the new head of state's title and name to appear (eg. King Percy XVI).

Random quote: "'The illusion of Pontesi nationhood'. The Serpent speaks. How can they say these things? How can they call our country an illusion? You can see it clear as day, these people won’t stop until they’ve destroyed us all." - Morgan Einar, former Pontesian general
