Bill: Bill for the endorsement of Chemical and Biological Disarmament
Details
Submitted by[?]: Baltusia Parliamentary Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: August 4224
Description[?]:
The BPP does not endorse chemical and biological weapons systems, in fact, we diametrically oppose their production, storage and use. Designed for the battlefield of the past, the case for such weapons is non-existent in the modern day. It is wrong – strategically, morally and financially. The biggest threats we face will not be deterred by new chemical or biological weapons. Security threats like terrorism, cyber-attacks and climate change are not addressed by such weaponry (as highlighted by the recent terror attacks on our nation (Baltusian Star: RAC leader denounces Terror attacks)). The gaps that need to be addressed are in areas such as policing, education and a reformed reconciliation programme, as well as conventional defence personnel and equipment. These gaps have emerged as a result of under-investment. With such a Bill, we shall be able to promote our democratic nation, putting us at the forefront of civil rights and liberties, whilst protecting our citizens in the theatre where it matters - within their own homes. Joint Statement, Mick Collins, Baltusia Parliamentary Party Foreign Office Spokesperson, and Andy McKibben, Baltusia Parliamentary Party Defence Spokesperson |
