Voting deadline: August 4225
Description[?]:
We need to offer the Post Office a long-term future, by separating the Post Office from public ownership, and allowing it to be sold to create funds for investment, whilst ensuring that the government regulates the industry. As such, outside investors will hold the shares, whilst liabilities will be taken on by the government. The BPP do not want to preside over the closure of hundreds and thousands of local Post Office branches. Keeping the Post Office under government regulation is important. But the Post Office under public ownership may be struggling to compete against leaner private delivery companies. As a result, there is little prospect of the Post Office being able to raise money from the public purse to allow it to compete effectively. This move will allow it to raise the funds privately, and it won’t be crippled with the Government retaining liabilities. Matthew Robb, Shadow Minister for Infrastructure and Transport |

Random fact: In cases where players introduce RP laws to a nation and then leave, Moderation reserves the discretion to declare the RP laws void if they appear to have fallen into disuse. In particular, please bear in mind that a player who is inexperienced with Particracy role-play and has joined a nation as the only party there should not generally be expected to abide by RP laws implemented by previous players who have been and left. |
