Bill: Prison Work Legislation

Details

Submitted by[?]: Sons of the Republic Movement

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: May 4236

Description[?]:

Members of the National Assembly, it is outrageous. I repeat. OUTRAGEOUS! Our prison labor program should be shame for all of our nation. While law-abiding citizens are paying taxes that are spent for well-being of prisoner, those very prisoners can choose if they are wiling to work, and even receive salary for it. I say no more. No more. Every prisoner capable of work should earn for their well-being. Let law-abiding taxpayers money be spent for something else, like, for example, homeless shelter program debated in the hall of this very Assembly.

Prison labor should be compulsory and not paid, as prison work should cover cost of incarceration.

Thank you, and God bless our Most Serene Republic.
