Submitted by[?]: Sons of the Republic Movement

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: June 4234

Description[?]:

Following legislation introduces legal protection of the national flag.

Justification:

Ladies and gentlemen, please, allow me to explain why I think this legislation is needed.
National Flag is not just a piece of fabric painted in some sort of pattern. It is symbol of our nation, our citizens, and thus shall be protected.
There are many ways one can destroy a nation, but one among these is cultural warfare. To destroy values that society hold sacred, to destroy it's believes, to destroy it's symbols. Once everything that makes a nation is destroyed, the nation itself falls.

National Flag is one of these previously mentioned symbols. It's a banner, that every citizens of our nation can gather around. Under this banner, our troops are fighting. Those banner flies at our public institutions, representing not the government, but the nation and state itself.

Freedom of speech has it's limits, and In my opinion, burning or desecrating national flag is one step too far. We shall protect our national flag.

Random fact: The majority of nations in Particracy are "Culturally Protected" with an established cultural background. Only the "Culturally Open" nations are not bound by the rules surrounding culture. The Cultural Protocols Index should be consulted for more information about the cultural situation of each nation.
