Bill: On the issue of 'Fake News'
Details
Submitted by[?]: The Metzist-Leonidist Party of Kirlawa
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: May 4248
Description[?]:
It is ridiculous that current legislation allows for the publication of information that is known to be false. This should be amended immediately to ensure that falsehoods are not spread by the media. In addition to this is the issue of hate speech. The fact that there is no legislation regarding hate speech in the media is a serious concern must be dealt with seriously, befitting its grave nature. Allowing hate speech is simply an allowance to be racist as well as an allowance to defame and slander others. This is unacceptable in a developed society such as the Republic of Kirlawa and needs to be settled in an orderly manner to prevent further inexcusable actions. |
