By this Act, the President has the right to veto the candidate-mayors and can appoint one him- or herself. Nevertheless, the party with most votes is entitled to present a candidate for mayor. If several parties cannot agree on a candidate, the President will have to choose one. If the President doesn't feel a candidate fit for the job, he or she is entitled to make a suggestion. Each candidate mayor will be screened by the President and will have to pledge allegiance to the nation. |
