Bill: Education Bill

Details

Submitted by[?]: Libertarian Socialist Party (RDL)

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill proposes the withdrawal from a treaty. It will require half of the legislature to vote in favor[?]. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: June 2192

Description[?]:

A Libertarian educational system, freedom of access and freedom from compulsion. We call for withdrwal from the International Treaty on the rights of the child as we believe that it's first section, which requires compulsory education, restricts rather than protects the rights of young people. We believe that if we provide a high quality free education system offering people learning opportunities throughout life then compulsion in eduction is not necessarry. Forcing people to study is counterproductive, we should aim to create a system whereby young people learn to actively seek out the knowledge they need or want rather than be forced to learn what we think they need to.
