Bill: Media Reforms 4309
Details
Submitted by[?]: Baltusian Democratic Green Party (BDGP)
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: January 4310
Description[?]:
Members of Congress, This country's commitment to a free media must never be underestimated, and no government who wishes to undermine it should be allowed to succeed. But those in the media have a responsibility to ensure they respect a citizen's right to privacy by questioning whether some articles are in the interest of the public. They must also take great care to not harbour extremists who use current loopholes in the law to spread hate speech via the media. This bill brings common sense regulations that seek to address these issues, and I ask Congress to approve this bill. After discussion with Government partners, I'm putting these proposals to vote once again. Hollis Overton Prime Minister of Baltusia |
