Bill: Court System Restructuring Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Willemburgist Party of Solentia (WPS)
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: August 4317
Description[?]:
In matters of regional law, it is possible and likely that a regional court system may be better suited to address legal disputes than a uniform court system. A uniform system may be unfamiliar with - or otherwise ill-equipped to handle - regional peculiarities while a regional system would be better able to specialise in their own law. Similarly, a specialized national court system would be better equipped to deal in matters of national law rather than leaving one court system to juggle the separate legal codes. However, we also believe it is important to establish national appellate courts and empower them to serve as impartial arbiters should a plaintiff, a defendant, or their legal council find the ruling or proceedings of their respective regional court unfair, unjust, or illegal. We propose that, so long as Solentia is constituted as a federal system of semi-autonomous regions united under a central government, the court system is to be modified to better suit this division of powers. |

Random fact: Did you know you can change the official name of your nation? All you need to do is draw up a new name that is in accordance with the Nation Renaming Guide, pass a bill proposing the name change with a two-thirds majority and then post a request to Moderation on the "Renaming Requests" thread. You can change city and region names in this way too. |
