Bill: Public Officials Reform Act 4357

Details

Submitted by[?]: Ligue des Socialistes Rildanoraises

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: July 4357

Description[?]:

The current laws give politicians a salary comparable to the average Rildanorese worker. This is wholly unacceptable, as workers contribute far more to the country than any politician ever could, be they conservative, socialist, or Axist. As well, being a politician should not be a full time job. Career politicians are slimy and corrupt, and have no appreciation for the common man. As such, we believe it is best to lower the salaries of elected public officials, so that only those who are truly dedicated to bettering society will desire to run for office.

At the same time, it is not only legal but encourage for government employees to be selected in a political way, this is an affront to everything democracy stands for. The government's job is to better the lives of the people, not satisfy the egos of its political elites.

Random fact: Don't put "the" as the first word in your party name, because when parties are referred to in news reports, their names are preceded with "the", e.g. the [Socialist Party] has lost.
