| The bloated welfare system of the nation has stood for too long as crutch designed not to help the people but to instead keep them dependent on government payrolls. While we in the Whig party believe in helping out our fellow man when they fall on hard times we do not believe in communism and the paying of individuals from public tax dollars for eternity. We urge the Peoples Assembly to affirm self responsibility and remove the guarantee of minimum income from those who do not seek to better themselves nor their situation but instead seek to live off the governments teet. Prime Minister Carson Threadgood ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ARTICLE 1.1 No person shall be afforded the guarantee of minimum income for a period longer than 15 months ARTICLE 1.2 Any person afforded the guarantee of minimum income for 15 months shall be afforded the right to appeal to the courts claiming hardship for renewal of their guaranteed income, the courts shall maintain the power to extend their federal payments in 3 month intervals |

Proposed: All adults not supported by another person shall be guaranteed a very basic subsistence income by the government. However, the provision of this is not to exceed a certian period of time.
