Description[?]:
Members of the Supreme Workers' Council, Among the various institutions of bourgeois society which served to oppress and deceive the working class, bourgeois justice must not be forgotten. The old court system, its processes and decisions, incorporated all the privileges of capital and the exploiting class and all the lack of privileges of the toiling masses. Reform is necessary. We need Workers' Justice for our Workers' Republic. 1. Workers' Justice shall see and end to the graded series of law courts, which allowed the wealthy to continue to carry a case from court to court until they secured a favourable decision. The right of appeal secured an equitable decision only in that it secured a judgement in the interest of exploiting class. The working class, unable to secure the services of high priced legal experts, were forced to abandon claims on grounds of expense. 2. In order to successfully transition from bourgeois justice to workers' justice we must ensure that the judiciary is elected by the workers. Under bourgeois justice the exploiting class passed judgement on the working majority, by electing a new judiciary we can ensure a representative judicial body. 3. Workers' Justice shall see an end to cruel and barbaric punishments. The majority of crimes committed in bourgeois society were either direct infringements of property rights or are indirectly connected with property. Under bourgeois justice it then followed that the punishments inflicted were expressions of the vengeful sentiments of the property owner. This need not be the case under Workers' Justice. 4. Workers' Justice shall see the introduction of policing by consent and bring to an end the use of armed police to make submissive the mass of the population in order to protect the interests of the exploiting and property owning class. 5. Whilst the threat of counter revolution continues, the abolition of the death penalty is impossible. What is evident however is the leniency of the Workers' Justice when compared to the executioners of bourgeois justice. The workers shall pass death sentences in extreme cases only. The 700 counter-revolutionaries captured after the atrocities committed by their forces at the Battle of al-Manoun shall be tried under Workers' Justice. The Workers are Victorious!
