We bring forward this bill to reduce the harm caused to our environment to ensure that our future is cleaner, greener and healthier for our citizens. This bill proposes the following articles to improve environmental health, reduce the incidence rate of asthma, emphysema and cancers of the lung by enforcing pollution control standards on all industry within the nation. To summarise, we propose; 1.) The protection of forests to maintain wildlife safe-heavens, a licence will be required to engage in the felling of healthy trees. 2.) The establishment and funding of a system of national parks and protected areas of beauty, we believe this will be good not only for health and wildlife but also for tourism. 3.) The enforcing of 'moderate' pollution standards to limit the amount of pollution emitted by polluting industry. 4.) The funding of recycling facilities and the enforcing of recycling on industry to reduce the overall environmental impact. 5.) The replacement of fell trees at a rate which is above the felling rate, ensuring an offset of CO2 levels produced within our borders. 6.) Private companies are to be legally required to dispose of their waste in a manner which is suitable, residential waste disposal is to be funded via taxation. |
