Bill: Employee Protections Bill
Details
Submitted by[?]: Baltusia Parliamentary Party
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: August 4586
Description[?]:
The BPP recognises the right to take industrial action and believes employee can not be legally forced to stay at, or go back to, work (unless such a ballot was not organised properly). Baltusian legislation currently provides trade unions with the power to dictate the working day and set salary caps. The BPP believes these rights have secured a positive, fair and just future for the citizens of Baltusa. However, the BPP highlights a failing in Baltusian trade law, in that striking employees may face dismissal for industrial action. The BPP proposes that workers can not be dismissed for industrial action if: Such action is called as a result of a properly organised ballot. Such action is about a trade dispute between workers and their employer. A detailed notice about the industrial action (which is legally required) has been given to the employer. This final provision is essential for protecting the rights of the employer, and the BPP raises that striking employees can be dismissed if their employer has tried to settle the dispute in a legitimate and transparent manner. Random fact: When your party holds the foreign affairs department, you can create new treaties. However, before writing anything new, it is a good idea to search for existing treaties which already accomplish what you desire. |
