Bill: Call for early elections, October 4686
Details
Submitted by[?]: Federal Labour Party (FLP)
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This bill requests an early election. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline. Elections will be held immediately if the bill passes.
Voting deadline: June 4687
Description[?]:
With the partial collapse of Her Majesty's Opposition, we feel it necessary to request fresh parliamentary elections be arranged as soon as possible. In just the past few months we have seen an increasingly authoritarian party gain steam, even showing it's true colors in their recent name change to the "One Party of Hutori", implying that they wish to cement their place as the country's single party. Numerous seats sit vacant in the House, following the surprising dissolving of both the Socialist Front, and the Federated Nationalist Parties. The moderate left continues to shrink in our nation, and our democratic values continue to be eyed with malcontent by the unscrupulous MPs of the aforementioned One Party of Hutori. Random fact: Did you know you can change the official name of your nation? All you need to do is draw up a new name that is in accordance with the Nation Renaming Guide, pass a bill proposing the name change with a two-thirds majority and then post a request to Moderation on the "Renaming Requests" thread. You can change city and region names in this way too. |
