Bill: Banking Bill 4716

Details

Submitted by[?]: Beluzia Renewal Party (BRP)

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: January 4717

Description[?]:

This party believes in allowing citizens more freedom of choice than the current government's policies allow.

In particular, the banking laws are, in our opinion, too highly restrictive and centralised.

Both policy changes included in this Bill need to be voted on as one, for the objective is to open up the banking market while still maintaining a central bank.

Importantly, this party believes that, although the government should retain ownership of the Central Bank, the running of it should be the responsibility of an independent body (acting as an agent for the government )
