Bill: P.d.l 2/4719: Military reform
Details
Submitted by[?]: Blocco della Sinistra
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: October 4719
Description[?]:
The military and the government should be kept as separate as possible. To allow the Minister of Defence to name military officers is to allow the government to create a military dome related to its political ideas, which throughout history, has proven to have the worst possible consequences, with numerous coups or threats from them when the outgoing government is replaced by another. In a serious and consolidated democracy, government institutions must assure citizens that the state defense body is a totally independent entity, oblivious to partisan interests of any kind.
