Bill: Religion Bill 4770

Details

Submitted by[?]: Alliance Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: February 4771

Description[?]:

It is time to reconsider the way in which this Parliament respects the strong tradition of religious beliefs in this country.
We once had a national religion (voluntary of course) - this reflected the beliefs of our people rather than imposing beliefs on them.
The adoption of a State religion proved very popular with the nation and the Alliance proposes to re-introduce the policy.
If the population appear happy with having a State religion, what purpose is served by Parliament removing this from them, as it did.

To balance the various recognised but minority religious communities within our nation, some other policies are proposed to encourage people in their faiths - should they choose to believe in them - and certainly not to actively discourage as has been done in the past.

Random fact: When forming a cabinet, try to include as few parties as possible, while still obtaining a majority of the seats.

Random quote: "Anarchism is not a romantic fable but the hardheaded realization, based on five thousand years of experience, that we cannot entrust the management of our lives to kings, priests, politicians, generals, and county commissioners." - Edward Abbey
