| Legislation to clarify the position of our national languages. Article 1:- The Official Languages of the Republic Act of 4758 (http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=624161) shall be repealed in recognition that it is superseded by this new legislation. Article 2:- The three recognised languages of the Republic are to be formally known as Jakanian Turjak, Jakanian Kalopian and Jakanian Majatran. All three languages shall continue to be known by their common names in most settings. Article 3:- The government shall authorise the creation of the Jakanian Language Institute (Cakan Dil Kurumu; CDK). The CDK will be tasked with regulating and preserving the three recognised languages as they are spoken and written in Jakania. In addition, the CDK will be tasked with monitoring the spoken and written languages in the country in order to determine if it would be appropriate to recognise additional languages through legislation. Article 4:- All schools shall be required to teach language and literature for at least two languages. Ordinary teaching of non-language subjects (such as maths and science) will continue to be allowed in a single language. The specific languages taught and the nature of their teaching shall be tailored to suit the communities and individual students that the schools serve. |
