Description[?]:
Below is a proposal for an updated cultural protocol in Aloria. --- In accordance with section 7 of the Game Rules (http://forum.particracy.net/viewtopic.php?p=145764&f=4#p145764), Aloria is a "culturally protected" country. Below is the cultural protocol which all players in the country must abide. Throughout the document, the real-life equivalent is shown in brackets next to the in-game name. The previous cultural protocol can be found here: http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=626854 --OVERVIEW-- Aloria is divided primarily between two major cultural groups: the Draddwyr or Draddeg (Welsh) and Dundorfian (German) people, with a variety of smaller minority populations. --ETHNICITY-- The Draddwyr or Draddeg (Welsh) people are the largest ethnic group in Aloria. Believed to have arrived in the region from northern Dovani millenia ago, they have typically dominated politics, culture and business within the country. Draddwyr populations are concentrated in Caermoel and Cymertraeth. The Dundorfian (German) people are present throughout northern and central Artania, especially Dundorf and Dorvik. The Dundorfian population in Aloria is naturally concentrated in the border regions of Gavonshire and Ultran. A notable minority population are the Yaeti (fictional in-game culture) people. Yaeti people are native to Aloria and were once spread throughout the region, however they are now generally limited to certain parts of Caermoel. Culturally they are related to the Dundorfian people but have developed various differences over the centuries. The traditional Yaeti language is a fictional constructed language (more information: https://particracy.fandom.com/wiki/Yaeti_dictionary) although most speak either Dundorfian or Draddwyr in modern times. Additional minorities include the the Alirlan (Romance) people, otherwise known as Seluco-Alorians, and the Selucian (Roman) people. Both groups are the descendents of Selucian migrants who arrived in the region millenia ago. The two groups have a degree of cultural similarity and are primarily concentrated in northern Sildar. Although they originally spoke the Alirlan (Interlingua) and Selucian (Latin) language, both groups now commonly speak either Dundorfian or Draddwyr too. » Draddwyr/Draddeg (Welsh)- 51% » Dundorfian (German)- 43% » Yaeti (fictional in-game culture)- 1% » Alirlan (Romance)- 1% » Selucian (Roman)- 1% » Rajutti (Hindi-speaking Indian)- 1% » Other- 2% --RELIGION-- Aloria is a country divided in religious terms. Hosianism (Christianity) is the dominant religious tradition in the region, however there are a variety of other faiths present too. Most Draddwyr belong to the Alorian Hosian Church (Anglicanism) while the largest denomination among Dundorfians is the Confessional Ameliorate Church of Dundorf (Calvinism). Notable religious minorities include the Aurorian Patriarchal Church (Roman Catholicism) and Bogism (fictional in-game religion, more information here: https://particracy.fandom.com/wiki/Bogism). » Alorian Hosian Church (Anglican)- 43% » Confessional Ameliorate Church of Dundorf (Calvinist)- 22% » No religion- 15% » Bogism (fictional in-game religion)- 9% » Aurorian Patriarchal Church (Roman Catholic)- 6% » Geraja (Hinduism)- 1% » Other- 4% --LANGUAGE-- The two most important languages in Aloria are Draddeg/Draddwyr (Welsh) and Dundorfian (German). In practical terms almost all of the population speaks Draddwyr and most speak Dundorfian too, although there are portions who only speak their native language. Small minorities within the country still speak the Yaeti (fictional constructed language, more information: https://particracy.fandom.com/wiki/Yaeti_dictionary), Alirlan (Interlingua) and Selucian (Latin) languages. A common additional languages spoken within Aloria is Luthorian (English) due to the historic connection between the countries. --INFORMATION/TOOLS-- Alorian geographic map: https://particracy.fandom.com/wiki/File:Map_of_Aloria.png Google translate: https://translate.google.co.uk/ Yaeti dictionary: http://particracy.wikia.com/wiki/Yaeti_Dictionary Interlingua dictionary: http://www.interlingua.com/an/ceid Interlingua resources: http://rudhar.com/lingtics/intrlnga/resurses.htm Naming generators: http://www.behindthename.com/random/ http://fantasynamegenerators.com/#realNames Game Rules: http://forum.particracy.net/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=8088#p137060 Cultural Protocols Index: http://forum.particracy.net/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=6365 Particracy forum: http://forum.particracy.net/ |
