Bill: Preparedness for War Bill 4815

Details

Submitted by[?]: Beluzia Renewal Party (BRP)

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: November 4815

Description[?]:

Over recent years - due to the relative peace of our times across Terra, the BRP has softened its military stance, agreeing to prohibit the use of nuclear weapons, for example.

However, Beluzia must not allow itself to be drawn into such a state of false security that, should war materialise, then we might be in a position whereby we cannot adequately defend ourselves.

Our excellent and efficient armed services are our first line of defence, and it is anticipated that that would be sufficient defence in most envisaged scenarios.

However, the BRP suggests that we adopt the policy proposed by this Bill to ensure that, in a larger-scale, global war environment, we are able to enlist civilians to fight for our country and its values.

Random fact: Parties have the ability to endorse another party's candidate for the Head of State election (if there is one). This adds a strategic element to the elections.
