GREAT INFRASTRUCTURE PROGRAMME
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Great Infrastructure Programme will take place at a local, regional and national level. The project is split up into different sectors. These are:
• Public transport
• Road infrastructure
• Energy infrastructure
• Education infrastructure

---PUBLIC TRANSPORT---

Public transport infrastructure projects will take place at a national and regional level. This will predominantly focus on the expansion of the rail lines within Aloria, as well as upgrading old lines.

NATIONAL

National projects fall under the direct supervision of the Department for Transport. Projects currently being explored are:
• A new high-speed rail line linking the north with the south – running from Port Freiheit to Rhuddem Cape
• Upgrade to the western section of the current high-speed line between Sildar Urbem and Craigtref
• Major rail exchange to be built in Mansfield due to key strategic position
• A second runway to be built at Sildar International Airport

REGIONAL

The national government will provide more funding to regional authorities along with the freedom to decide on projects to undertake in their region. The government provides this funding on the basis that the following criteria are met:
• A full cost-benefit analysis is carried out before any project is given the green light
• An assessment is made to determine how to make the project eco-friendly

---ROAD INFRASTRUCTURE---
Road infrastructure improvements will take place nationally and locally.

NATIONAL

The national government will be responsible for road infrastructure projects on main national roads. This will mostly take place in the north of the country.

LOCAL

At a local level, the government will create road improvement grants that councils can apply for to improve local road infrastructure. The money will be granted provided:
• A full cost-benefit analysis is carried out and provided to the government for review
• An assessment is made considering the environmental impact of road infrastructure improvements in the local area

---ENERGY INFRASTRUCTURE---

As part of the government’s policy agenda, more money is to be spent on expanding the provision of green energy sources. Current plans for spending on energy infrastructure include:
• Expansion of offshore wind farms off the coast of north-west Sildar
• New offshore wind farms to be built off Cymertraeth in order to create local jobs and stimulate the local economy
• 50m ALO of investment to enhance offshore wind farm ports

---EDUCATION INFRASTRUCTURE---

More money will be provided to local governments in deprived areas to spend on levelling-up education. This will be through grants for the following:
• New grammar schools in deprived areas with a lack of grammar school places
• New technical colleges to be built in deprived areas
• Increased amount of school bus services

Random fact: In Culturally Protected nations, special care must be taken to ensure realism is maintained when role-playing a government controlled by an ethnic and/or religious minority. If it is to be supposed that this government is supported by a majority of the population, then this should be plausibly and sufficiently role-played. The burden of proof is on the player or players role-playing such a regime to demonstrate that it is being done realistically
