Voting deadline: March 4907
Description[?]:
A proposal to address the growing issue of invasive species in the many lakes of Likatonia, specifically referring to the Zebra Mussels. Background: While Zebra Mussels can make lakes astonishingly clear (by feeding off of the algae), this can be harmful for the ecosystem because algae is very important to many lake organisms, especially many fish, who rely on algae as one of their food sources. Zebra mussels also kill many organisms, such as other mussels and plants (that are native to the ecosystem), by attaching to these organisms. These organisms are also prevalent on the shores of many lakes (where there are beaches). Many citizens view this as a nuisance, due to the fact that these mussels are sharp, and that they ruin the aesthetic appeal of the beaches themselves, potentially resulting in lower revenue for the Likatonia Tourism industry. This bill will create a sub-department inside the Department of Environment and Tourism called the Invasive Species Department, that will employ at least two people, at each public access point of every lake, to check everyone’s water vessel to make sure that there are no zebra mussels attached when entering and exiting the lake. The sub-department will also employ at least four people on every lake to collect any zebra mussels that are on the public beaches of the lakes. Another six people will be employed on every lake to monitor the transparency of the water, the approximate number of zebra mussels, and the approximate number of fish, plants, mussels, and any other organisms on the lake, to establish a correlation between the number of zebra mussels and the number of other organisms on the lake, and will release this data to the sub-department to release to the employees of the sub-department and to the public. The employees at the lake’s public access checkpoints shall be paid $13.50 an hour. The employees at the lake’s beaches collecting zebra mussels shall be paid $11.20 an hour. The employees collecting data about the lake shall be paid $20.00 an hour. |

Random fact: In Culturally Protected nations, special care must be taken to ensure realism is maintained when role-playing a government controlled by an ethnic and/or religious minority. If it is to be supposed that this government is supported by a majority of the population, then this should be plausibly and sufficiently role-played. The burden of proof is on the player or players role-playing such a regime to demonstrate that it is being done realistically |
