Description[?]:

In accordance with section 7 of the Game Rules (http://forum.particracy.net/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=8088&p=145763#p145764), Aldegar is a "culturally protected" country. Below is the cultural protocol which all players in the country must abide. Throughout the document, the real-life equivalent is shown in brackets next to the in-game name.

The previous cultural protocol can be found here: http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=637566

--OVERVIEW--

From as early as the 7th century BCE, the Aldegarian (Persian) people have dominated the region of modern Aldegar. Alongside other Ezadi (Iranian) peoples, they continue to form the majority of the population today with the Mu-Tze (Mongol) people forming a notable minority in the country's northern regions. Throughout ancient and modern Aldegarian history, Yazdism (Zoroastrianism) has played a major role in society, culture and politics, it is often considered the Aldegarian "national religion" although both Daenism (Buddhism) and Hosianism (Christianity) have been important at various points too.

--ETHNICITY--

Aldegar's population is primarily composed of Ezadi (Iranian) peoples with the largest (and historically dominant) group being Aldegarian (Persian) people. Aside from these there is a sizeable minority of Mu-Tze (Mongol) people who originally settled in the region during the period of the Mu-Tze Khanate and are concentrated in the north.

» Ezadi (Iranian)- 78%
⠀⠀-- Aldegarian (Persian)- 67%
⠀⠀-- Dudmani (Pashtun)- 8%
⠀⠀-- Kharaji (Baloch)- 3%
» Mu-Tze (Mongol)- 15%
» Yingdalan (Han Chinese)- 2%
» Majatran (Arab)- 1%
» Other- 4%

--RELIGION--

For millennia, Yazdism (Zoroastrianism) has been the dominant religion in Aldegar and has typically played an important role in politics and wider society as well as influencing much of the nation's culture. Daenism (Buddhism) and Hosianism (Christianity) have significant minority communities although both have experienced repression and persecution in the past. Over the centuries, numerous syncretic groups have emerged and this means many people identify with a religious identity while incorporating aspects of other traditions.

» Yazdism (Zoroastrianism)- 72%
⠀⠀-- Ahadism (Mazdaism)- 57%
⠀⠀-- Zamānism (Zurvanism / Manichaeism / Yazdânism)- 15%
» Daenism (Buddhism)- 11%
» Hosianism (Christianity)- 8%
⠀⠀-- Aldegarian Apostolic Church (Nestorian Church / Church of the East)- 8%
» None- 4%
» Rowshanism (Babism / Mazdakism / Khurramism)- 3%
» Hamekhodaism (Pantheism)- 1%
» Other- 1%

--LANGUAGE--

The dominant national language is the Aldegarian (Persian) language. Internationally it is among the oldest extant languages in the world with its own distinct writing system. Due to this long history, variation between traditional and contemporary language is significant. The traditional standardised form of the language is known as Classical Aldegarian (Farsi) and is officially written in the Aldegarian (Avestan) script. As well as being the liturgical language of Yazdism, it is used in national media, government and other formal, written settings.

Recent centuries have seen efforts to standardise contemporary, spoken forms of the Aldegarian language. The most popular of these is known as Modern Aldegarian (Tajik) and utilises a modified form of the Selucian (Latin) script in its written form. Although it is not often used in literature, it has becoming increasingly common in entertainment and the media as well as to teach Aldegarian as a second language. Finally there are notable minority languages such as Dudmani (Pashto) and Panmuan (Mongolian).

--INFORMATION/NOTES--

Persian written using the Avestan script has traditionally been for the Aldegarian language. Given the difficulty of translating names into this script, players are recommended to use Tajik (written using the Latin-based Tajik alphabet) as an alternative. The latter is provided by Google Translate.
