| MARTWICK, MIDDENRIDING -- A group of 120 small and family farmers from across Luthori have announced the formation of the Allied Farmer's Union. AFU farmers will agree to cooperatively set prices, share equipment, declare preferred trade partners, and prohibit the doing of business with unfair purchasers or suppliers. By joining forces, the farmers hope to gain bargaining power against large distributors and force them to pay higher prices. The AFU is explicitly supported by the Agrarian People's Party. Jeremy Shaw, a 6th-generation farmer who owns a 75-acre farm in Middenriding, will be the AFU's first Chairman. |
