| These new policies instill the Yingdalan justice system with benevolence. While punishment is necessary, the people will become better Jienists through education and an understanding of shame. The justice system cannot be the primary way to steer society in the right direction. Reliance on punishments alone will only teach the people to avoid bad action to avoid punishment - not doing bad to avoid being bad. |
