Bill: Phone Service Regulation & Subsidy Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: New Green Party (NGP)

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: November 5074

Description[?]:

In today's advancing world, a large amount of the world's communication has moved online and families who cannot afford phone service are increasingly disconnected from their friends and loved ones. I propose that we subsidize the phone service of low-income families so that they may stay in touch with the people they know, and I also propose that we begin regulating the prices of phone services so that they are affordable in the first place.

Jason Thielhorn,
Minister of Education & Culture
