Description[?]:

-------BREAKING NEWS-------
Conservative Constitutional Unity Party President, Alexander Piscani has confirmed that he will be resigning, after a recent survey of registered CCUP members only showed 31% approval rating. Those who took the survey claimed that they disapproved of the restrictive economic policies President Piscani was championing in the House. Under CCUP laws if a Party President gets below 40% approval rating the leader is forced to resign.

Below is a statement by Alexander Piscani:

"When I first took this position CCUP was weak and lacked a back bone. Under my time I worked to establish a brand, something we would be known for. I pushed for freedom and looked to give hope to the hopeless. Under my direction we invested into communities and became not a party of politicians but a party of friends and families. While I'm stepping down today from this important position, this won't be the last time you hear from me. I'll never stop fighting for the Likatonian people."

CCUP members will hold a meeting this evening to vote on a new party leader. Some of the names on the list is former left leaning Likatonian President, Benson F. Hargrove, Former Party President and centrist, Andrew Finnigan, and far-right, fire brand political strategist, Robert Seymour. This vote tonight could show what path the party plans on taking for the future.

Random fact: Parties have the ability to endorse another party's candidate for the Head of State election (if there is one). This adds a strategic element to the elections.
