Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: September 5177

Description[?]:

As expected, John Clark and Devon Humperdinck qualified for the second round of the Governor-General election. Clark outperformed expectations and won the most votes (26.94%) in the first round.
Michael O’Neal, the LCP candidate, campaigning on a program of integral restoration of the monarchy, unexpectedly made large gains since 5174 and won almost 20% of the votes, but not enough to qualify for the second round.

Humperdinck used his personal popularity to come on top in the second round and managed to be the most convincing in the Great Debate against John Clark.
While analysts predicted the second round would be close, Humperdinck won convincingly with 55% of the votes.

A DIVIDED ASSEMBLY
---------------------------------

Despite the popularity of Humperdinck, the ruling Carlston V Cabinet was defeated in the House of Commons elections. The Luthorian Labour performed poorly, owing to the unpopulairty of Carlston, while the Solidarity Citizens' Committee triumphed with 19.25% of the votes.
The disappointment is even bigger among the Humperdinck Nationals: the party collapses to the third place with a meager 13% of the votes, behind the CSCU. The smaller and older monarchist parties (LCP and RE), however, performed well.
The Left Party made a breakthrough in these elections, gaining 12% of the votes and becoming the 4th largest party. The party of Davies could gain some influence in the next cabinet.
Finally, the CPPL performed poorly, despite the rather good result of Gabriella Barnes in the Governor-General election.
