Investor and consumer confidence has improved since the early election of 5341. โข Cildania is an export economy, with its closest trading partners found within the Majatra Economic Association. Cildania has bilateral economic agreements in place with Jakania and Cobura. Cildania's primary exports are tobacco products, wine, textiles and clothing, medical devices, and fish products. As an export economy, Cildania requires access to foreign markets. At present, Cildania has bilateral trade agreements with only two countries, and relies upon the framework of the largely inactive MEA to ensure buyers for its products. โข The global marketplace is anarchic and messy, with unclear institutions and frameworks to manage the exchange of money and goods. โข Cildania has many globally-renowned export products which are nevertheless unable to differentiate themselves from their global competitors. โข Cildania's infrastructure limits the economy's export capacity, logistical efficiency, and broader potential for growth. Cildania must seek expanded bilateral and multilateral trading arrangements, with the goal of achieving low or no tariffs access to foreign markets for key Cildanian exports, while lowering the cost of imported goods in high demand. โข Cildania must contribute positively to the development of stronger international and multilateral regulatory bodies for global trade, and a register of the global flow of resources and products. The reform and revitalization of Majatran institutions is of primary concern. โข Cildania must pursue the establishment of an institution to certify the protected designation of origin (PDO) and appellation of our key national products (wine, cheese and tobacco, specifically) to add value and ensure their differentiation in the global marketplace. โข Cildania must invest in expanding its highways, roadways, and railroads, with a particular emphasis on the efficient transportation of freight and cargo. Energy production in Cildania is primarily produced through coal-fired power stations constructed before or during the previous regime. Coal-powered plants in Cildania are supplied by small-scale and mid-scale domestic coal mines. โข In some major cities, coal-fired power stations are being supplemented with imported natural gas and oil; Cildania has some under-exploited reserves of natural gas, but lacks significant reserves of either resource. This is costly, prone to corruption, and insufficient. โข Cildania's energy grid, following a period of mismanagement followed by privatization, is inefficient, out-dated, and unreliable. This is a significant strain on Cildania's economic development, with urban and rural areas experiencing occasional loadshedding Local and national policy should prioritize the expansion and modernization of Cildania's coal-fired power stations and the mines which supply them to achieve energy independence and security, as well as to meet the demand of Cildania's growing economy. โข Local and national policy should seek to expand Cildania's natural gas-fired power capacity, as well as the explorations of its natural gas reserves. โข Cildania should seek to become a net energy exporter by 5360, promoting exports of its domestically-produced coal and natural gas. โข With sufficient work-force development, and access to the necessary capital, Cildania should endeavour to construct a nuclear power plant by 5360. Cildania's workforce lacks the technical expertise and capacity to undertake important infrastructural improvements and developments necessarily to the accelerated development of Cildania's economy, such as in the field of hydroelectricity, nuclear power, rail transport, and port construction. โข Cildania, moreover, needs to secure long-term agreements with suppliers of materials which cannot be produced in Cildania, such as uranium, oil, plastics, computer chips, tropical fruit and other foodstuffs, livestock, Cildania must expand production of raw materials of particular strategic and economic importance which the island is rich in, such as bauxite, iron ore, tin, coal, as well as the refinement of these materials domestically, for example: โ โ โ โ โ โณ Expanding production of chemicals and abrasives (bauxite) and the production of concrete and steel (bauxite, gravel; iron ore, tin, bauxite), which can supply Cildania's important and growing real estate and construction sectors. Expanding production of coal to meet domestic supply, and to export. Expanding production of tin to supply the fish canning sector. Since the end of the previous regime, mismanagement and corruption have become serious hinderances to economic growth in Cildania. The government should pursue action against corruption, particularly among trade unionists, and political figures associated with anarchism, fascism, communism, or any other ideology opposed to Cildania's economic development. โข The government should pursue strict regulation over public sector unions, as well as the propagation of Metzism among the civil service. All information derived from pre-existing Cildanian wiki pages (the economy section of the main page; the pages of each principality and city) as well as the RP which has been done since 5321. |
