Description[?]:
From August 22 to August 25, the General Grand Congress of the DSDP was held in Rabesburg, Chontalen. DSDP delegates have been called to decide on the Presidential candidate and to approve the new Statute on the Internal Wings. On August 22, Federal President Jonas Sternberg was nominated the DSDP Presidential Nominee by acclamation, without a sight of opposition. Sternberg accepted the nomination and confirmed he would seek re-election for a third term with LO's support, and possibly others. From August 24 to August 25, DSDP discussed and approved unanimously the new Statute on the Internal Wings, which seeks to expand internal democracy with the following changes. - DSDP allows now a total of five internal wings: Progressives, Moderates, Red-Greens, Left-Federalists and Social-Conservative Socialists. Progressive are the mainstream of the DSDP, they express strong center-left views on economic issues, and left-wing views on social issues. Moderates are the main runner-up to the Progressive: they like centrist/neo-lib economic views with moderately progressive views on social issues, although they don't favor "green-radicalism" over environmental issues. Red-Greens are DSDP members who strongly care about the environment, to the point of supporting restructuring the nation's economic system. They have heterogenous positions on other issues. They are particularly liked by students. Left-Federalists are basically party mainliners, but with a strong preference for a renewed federalism, opposed to the leadership's centralism. Social-Conservative Socialists have joined DSDP after the disbandment of DZ!. They're socialists who although strongly oppose "progressivist" views on social issues. They are marginal. Here's the results of the primary election with the new wings: - Die Progressiven, led by Lukas Söder-Kerekes, incumbent DSDP Leader: 862.984 / 44.8% / 45 seats - Die Moderaten, led by Mattheus Werner, incumbent Agricolture Minister: 648.911 / 33.7% / 34 seats - Die Rot-Grünen: led by Bettina Paulman, environmentalist activist: 259.264 / 13.5% / 13 seats - Die Links-Föderalisten, led by Julia Oettinger, State Minister for Interior Affairs in Chontalen: 95.835 / 5% / 5 seats - Die Sozialkonservative Sozialisten, led by Olaf Recht, Mayor of Fuchstal: 58.829 / 3% / 3 seats |

Random fact: "OOC", "IC" and "IG" are commonly-used acronyms in Particracy. "OOC" refers to comments, discussions and actions which are out-of-character, meaning they are done player-to-player rather than party-to-party. "IC" refers to in-character interactions (ie. party-to-party). Similarly, "IG" means in-game, although this term may also simply refer to what happens in the actual game interface, as opposed to on the forum or elsewhere. "RP" just means "role-play". |
