Bill: Mayoral Executive Powers Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: Nationale Unie

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: August 5404

Description[?]:

Government policy regarding the authority enjoyed by mayoral officials and their manner of appointment to office is inconsistent with the democratic process or the previously pluralistic nature of our society. The manner of appointment and exercise of authority should be rendered transparent and decentralized with as wide a variety of voices as possible so as to avoid a tyranny of majority or a dominant minority regime. Case and Point, the people need a healthy mixture of moderates and realists not ideologues.

Random fact: Did you know you can change the official name of your nation? All you need to do is draw up a new name that is in accordance with the Nation Renaming Guide, pass a bill proposing the name change with a two-thirds majority and then post a request to Moderation on the "Renaming Requests" thread. You can change city and region names in this way too.

Random quote: "The great economic, social and political scientist, Karlstein Metz, accurately predicted over 2,500 years ago that capitalism is doomed to destruction by its inherent weaknesses and contradictions, and must inevitably be replaced by a communist form of social, political and economic organisation." - Friedrich Pfeiffer, former Dorvish politician
