--OVERVIEW--

Trigunia is a primarily East Slavic nation, with indigenous Alaskan minorities. It was originally established as a colony of Deltaria, after which Trigunia was for a long time in a personal union with Greater Hulstria, during which many Hulstrians (Austrians) settled in Trigunia and the Confessional (Lutheran) Church gained a large following.

Most Trigunians belong to the Rodshyan (Russian), Kozakian (Ukrainian), and Krivian (Belarusian) ethnic groups, considered coequal parts of the Trigunian nation. They primarily inhabit Chadonia, Lesser Chadonia, and Tyrgov, respectively, the three main Trigunian islands.

A large part of the Trigunian population belongs to the indigenous ethnic groups, based on the indigenous peoples of Alaska. They include the Asakh (Aleut), Tlagu (Tlingit), Khelok (Alaskan Athabaskan), Itkilit (Iñupiat), and Nagayuk (Yupik).

--LANGUAGE--

Rodshyan (Russian) is the most widely spoken language in Trigunia and serves as its lingua franca. The other two main Trigunian (East Slavic) languages, Kozakian (Ukranian) and Krivian (Belarusian) are spoken by their respective ethnic groups. The indigenous peoples of Trigunia have maintained their languages to some extent, though almost all are fluent in Rodshyan.

Though the indigenous peoples may occasionally preserve native personal names, they almost always have Rodshyan (Russian) names and surnames.

The local Hulstrians speak their native Dundorfian (German) language and have Dundorfian (German) names.

Random fact: By default the head of government is the ultimate authority within a national government. In general terms, heads of government are expected to consult with cabinet colleagues (including those from other parties) before making significant decisions but they remain responsible for government action.
