Article 1: Definition Of "Private Prisons" 1.1 "Private Prison" refers to any correctional facility or institution operated by a private corporation, entity or person, whether for-profit or non-profit, with the purpose of incarcerating individuals under jurisdiction of the government. Article 2: Legal Policy Surrounding "Private Prisons" 2.1 The establishment, operation or contracting of "Private Prisons" is hereby prohibited. 2.2 All currently existing institutions must be terminated within a time period of 6 months and all incarcerated individuals will be transferred to state-owned institutions. . Article 3: Enforcement 3.1 Individuals or entities found in violation of this Act shall be liable for damages, including compensation for affected inmates and transition costs. 3.2 The government shall be responsible for enforcing this Act and will impose severe penalties on entities or individuals found in violation of this Act. |
