Bill: Budget proposal of June 5465

Details

Submitted by[?]: Ndralóni Demokratikus Párt

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill proposes to change the allocation of funds in the budget. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline.

Voting deadline: February 5466

Description[?]:

Our fiscal situation is an unacceptable mess, with large-scale borrowing every year to finance government spending that is very excessive relative to actual needs in several departments, with large sums of money consequently being wasted. The reforms outlined in this budget proposal will correct the situation, restore our credit, and spare our children further debt, with a view to balancing the budget without cutting vital public services.

At the same time, there is a need to offset the effect the rise in prices due to implementation of the sales tax will have on the poor; for this reason, the government will include a 4.5 billion compensatory package containing increases in social security benefits for those people.

Random fact: RP laws follow the same passing rules as in-game variable laws. Laws that are not of a constitutional nature require a simple majority "Yes" vote from active parties currently holding seats. Laws that are of a constitutional nature require a 2/3 majority "Yes" vote from active parties currently holding seats. RP laws may be abolished a simple majority vote this applies to ANY RP law.

Random quote: "The European Union and environmental advocacy groups use global warming hysteria to advance their own special agendas. The European Union recognizes any significant reduction in CO2 emissions by the United States will significantly reduce its economic output, thereby bringing it closer to the inferior output of European nations. Environmental advocacy groups work to stifle economic and industrial progress wherever they find it to inhibit the successful advancement of peoples in developing nations, inevitably making mankind a second class citizen of planet Earth." - Dr. Jay Lehr
