Description[?]:
ETHNICITIES The ethnicities present in Vorona represent a melting pot of diverse cultures. The nation’s predominant Kariga-Voronan culture traces much of its roots to numerous voyages by Asli settlers, who initially settled on the island to escape religious and political persecution in Talmoria and Statrica as well as colonialism (many were brought to the island either as slaves or indentured labourers from Talmoria and Statrica following the initial free voyages). The same could be said about the nation's Raktavani Voronan population, who came to the island as indentured labourers. The Luthorian, Gaduri and Yingdalan cultural groups can trace much of their lineage to colonisers, explorers and traders who settled on the island. » 45% Kariga-Voronan (Afro-Caribbean) » 30% Raktavani-Voronan (Indo-Caribbean) » 12% Mixed/Akigan-Esinsundu (Mix between Afro-Caribbean and Luthorian) » 7% Luthorian (English) » 3% Gaduri (Mexican/Latin American) » 2% Yingdalan (Chinese) » 1% Other LANGUAGES The primary language of Vorona is Luthorian (English) which is spoken by the vast majority of the nation. As a largely multi-lingual society, Vorona is sort of a melting pot for languages. The nation’s majority Kariga-Voronan population, aside from speaking standard Luthorian, primarily speak a more broken Luthorian which combines elements from standard Luthorian, Asli, Gaduri and Yingdalan languages present on the island; or what is considered within Vorona as “Voronan Creole” or “Voronan Luthorian Creole”. » 100% Luthorian (English) » 87% Voronan Creole / Voronan Luthorian Creole (English Creole) » 12% Voronan Kalkali (Caribbean Hindustani) » 5% Egelian (Spanish) » 3% Yingdalan (Zhongyuan Mandarin Chinese) RELIGION » 71% Hosianism (Christianity) → 24% Luthoranism (Protestant) → 22% Terran Patriarchal Church (Eastern Orthodoxy) → 16% Aurorian Patriarchal Church (Roman Catholic Church) → 9% Congregationalism (Nonconformist Protestant Church) » 13% Ahmadism (Islam) » 7% Agnostic/Unobservant » 5% Atheist » 4% Other Religions NAMING The majority of characters in Vorona should have either Afro-Caribbean names (Trinidadian and/or Jamaican), Indo-Caribbean names, Luthorian names or a combination of both. A smaller amount of characters could maintain Hispanic and/or Chinese names. Random fact: Moderation will not accept Cultural Protocol updates which introduce, on a significant scale, cultures which are likely to be insufficiently accessible to players. In particular, for all significant cultures in Particracy, it should be easy for players to access and use online resources to assist with language translation and the generation of character names. Moderation reserves the right to amend Cultural Protocols which are deemed to have introduced significant cultures that are not sufficiently accessible and which are not being actively role-played with. |
Random quote: "Remember, democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet that did not commit suicide." - John Adams |
