Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: December 5489
Description[?]:
"The regulation burden is crippling the production of food in Tukarese, specially regarding small business, preventing the creation of new food companies and increasing their operational cost, leading to market concentration and so higher prices and low consumer satisfaction. This bill proposes to put the food safety regulation in the hands of local administration instead of the already bloated central government bureaucracy. Also, since unfortunately there is a huge prejudice against genetic engineering among our population, and small companies sometimes can't even pay the cost for proper packaging, let alone to find and list all components of their products, let's flexibilize the standards of ingredient labeling. These regulations seems at a first view to protect the consumer, but what they really protect is the market share of big corporations, who can pay the price of all of this while reaping the benefits of oligopoly" - Adolfo Souza Mequenezes, chief economist of the Green Order and Progress Party |

Random fact: By default the head of government is the ultimate authority within a national government. In general terms, heads of government are expected to consult with cabinet colleagues (including those from other parties) before making significant decisions but they remain responsible for government action. |
