Description[?]:
Sekowo no Dokuritsu shita Midorinotō (Independent Green Party of Sekowo) Sekowo no Dokuritsu shita Midorinotō (SDM) is a center-right environmentalist party. The SDM, often referred to simply as Midorinotō ("The Greens") by its supporters, merges the principles of fiscal conservatism, grass roots democracy, and conservationism. Sekowo no Dokuritsu shita Midorinotō party platform is based on five basic principles. Grassroots Democracy. We believe in the fundamental right to individual self-determination. As such, we encourage active involvement of the all citizens in the democratic process, and the development of an inclusive political atmosphere. Government should be responsive to the regional needs and demands of its citizens. As such, we support devolving political power to the regional and local governments, so that communities can craft policies that are in their best interest. Grassroots Capitalism. The SDM supports policies that encourage the growth of community based businesses. By simultaneously removing impediments for small businesses and preventing predatory practices by large firms, we can encourage sustainable grassroots capitalism that encourages businesses to be responsive to local market forces while also being accountable to their political and environmental concerns of their communities. Equal Opportunity. All citizens of Sekowo deserve the right to participate in local politics and local business. The government of Sekowo must maintain policies that encourage societal integration and mutual respect between all individuals. Environmentalism. We only have one planet. We must enact policies which encourage sustainable social development and economic growth. We must insure that all people have equal access to the resources that our planet provides. Sustainable development and ecological responsibility means that not only will future generations will have the same opportunities that we have enjoyed. Non-violence. In order to end the current cycle of resource monopolization and resource degradation, we must also end violent conflict. Militarism encourages the destruction of both human life and the environment. Therefore we must demilitarize and disarm not only ourselves, but other nations as well. However, the SDM recognizes the need for violence situations self-defense, and encourages a practical approach toward funding the armed forces of Sekowo. |
