Description[?]:
The FPL was founded in the year 2600 as a political vehicle for the most radical sections of the underground anti- fascist movement. The party's founding statement laid down the following aims:- 1. The elimination of fascism and other forms of authoritarianism. 2. The political representation of the working class and other oppressed groups. 3. The establishment of a democratically run, co-operative economy based on the principle 'from each according to ability, to each according to need' In it's short history the FPL has had major achievements in extending democratic rights for all Kirlawans, promoting trade union freedom and worker's democracy, pushing forward a programme of wealth and land redistribution and fighting for increased personal freedom. As the FPL has grown it has become a dominant force in the Kirlawan political scene as more and more people have flocked to it's banner, drawn by the principled way the party has fought for freedom, justice and power for the working class and against all forms of oppression and discrimination. Over the years the party's ideology has crystalised into a conception of Libertarian Communism, memorably expounded upon by FPL founder member Fatima Ulrich on her election to the general assembly. ''The continued success of the FPL in the recent elections shows that the Kirlawan people are turning to us in increasing numbers, realising that the best way to achieve freedom and equality for all in our nation (and indeed across the world) is our programme of Libertarian Communism. Libertarian Communism means taking the economy out of the hands of the wealthy elite and putting it under the democratic control of those who create the nation's wealth through toil. Libertarian Communism equally means rolling back the oppressive apparatus of the state, leaving our people free to lead their lives as they see fit. We believe that Kirlawa can become a beacon to the world, shining a light which shows the way to a future free of hunger, free of poverty, free of violence and war, a future where all are free to live as they see fit and no-one is persecuted for their beliefs.''
