Description[?]:
The Underappreciated Party: Being ignored since 2085. The Underappreciated Party stands for the gravely underappreciated philosophy that individuals should be given the maximum amount of freedom of choice available while still protecting the interests of a centralized state. We support free education, but also assert that education should be a personal choice tailored nearly as possible to the needs of each individual student. We believe in transparency of agriculture for the safety and well being of our people, as well as for their peace of mind. We also recognize that it is sometimes neccesary to give up certain liberties in order to maintain a safe and healthy society. Above all we believe in supporting the will of the people, for they are our constituents, and the source from which we draw our power, without their support and trust we are nothing. In 2104 the UPI joined with the NP, the FFP and the FSA to form the Middle Front Coalition. Chancellor Robert Bonaparte served as the supported candidate of the MFC from its formation in 2104 until the 2115 election, every bid during that period was successful. In 2115 Chancellor Bonaparte and Education Minister Bob bin-Forapples retired from politics to form the Robert Bonaparte School of Public Service, a residential charter school for high school students who show a stong interest in public service. The Bonaparte School is located in central Alkon province at what is nearly the geographical center of Ikradon in the city of Dooram. After Chancellor Bonaparte's retirement, Josephine Tito was elected to head that UPI's national committee, the first change of power since Bonaparte founded it in 2085. Some speculate that in the later years of Bonaparte's control of the party her influence was perhaps more influential than was outwardly apparent. Since the party head changed rapid change in party leadership positions have taken place, some have been replaced directly, others have retired for personal reason, still others have argued that this is no longer the party of the truly Underappreciated but instead is just a beauraucratic ghost of its former ideology. In 2162 former Chancellor of Ikradon Josephine Tito stepped aside with the rest of the party leadership to allow Stephen Mao to help bring new life to the UPI. Other ministerial candidates also came in at this time. |

Random quote: "We must show that liberty is not merely one particular value but that it is the source and condition of most moral values. What a free society offers to the individual is much more than what he would be able to do if only he were free. We can therefore not fully appreciate the value of freedom until we know how a society of free men as a whole differs from one in which unfreedom prevails." - Friedrich August Hayek |
