Description[?]:
Greetings, dear reader, to the humble chambers of the Solentian Industrialist Party. HISTORY: Unlike many of the other political factions, we do not possess a remarkable history nor a time-honored figure to relate to. We were founded, quite frankly, by a group of concerned individuals regarding the state of our beloved homeland. Recognizing the global threat of Communism and the omnipresent shadow of altruism, we formed around the basis of a free-market individualistic society, the antithesis of all things Socialist. IDEOLOGY - We are a party of unique individuals of exceptional skill. Before entering the political fray, many of our members were nothing more than average citizens, trying to make the best of our lives. We are a party of businessmen, a party of bankers, a party of farmers, and so on. We believe our mixed skill and experience will prove quite useful in ruling such a unique nation. Thus, we welcome all those who share our ideology of free-market individualism, regardless of status, class or race. We believe all have a place in our world and thus we welcome all under our banner. - We are a party of progressive (or "Free Market") Industrialism. Capitalism has gotten quite a bad name over the past centuries, and the influence of socialism has filled the gaps in which Capitalism once reigned supreme. Quite frankly, we believe that Capitalism is the only ethical system of socioeconomic, as we believe entirely in the individual's right to excel. We promise to dispel the negative mythology regarding Capitalism's "dubious" nature and show the world it's strengths, whilst working tirelessly to improve it's flaws. - We are a party of philosophical reason. Reason, quite unfortunately, has been superimposed by the philosophy of skepticism and pragmatism. These harmful philosophy, based upon the fundamental idea that an objective morality and even objective knowledge is nothing more than a fallacy, has for too long infiltrated our world. We promise to use human reason, as opposed to blind mysticism or "assumptions", to create legislation. Everything that needs to be decided upon will include the usage of said reason, and thus we promise to bring nothing but rationality back to the government. We exclusively cite examples from famous philosophers such as Aristotle, John Locke and Ayn Rand as our inspiration. SHORTENED IDEOLOGY Economy Policy - We support the system of Laissez-faire economics, with the socioeconomic philosophy of the "invisible hand" ruling supreme. Free-Market Capitalism is another name for this concept. Public Policy - We consider ourselves individualists, as we support the belief of natural rights and rational self-interest. We will not put the "greater good" of the whole over the interests of the part. We understand the value each citizen holds to us, and we promise not to squander such a valuable asset. Foreign Policy - We consider ourselves strong believers in free trade, and those who wish to adopt a policy of protectionism will find an opponent in us. On the subject of conflict, we absolutely refuse to use force unless it is absolutely necessary for national defense. This is but just a taste of our ideology, as much will no doubt be added at a later date. (OOC: It should be obvious I did this in a few minutes...I'll add philosophical explanations and further detail a little later. Random fact: Particracy allows you to establish an unelected head of state like a monarch or a president-for-life, but doing this is a bit of a process. First elect a candidate with the name "." to the Head of State position. Then change your law on the "Structure of the executive branch" to "The head of state is hereditary and symbolic; the head of government chairs the cabinet" and change the "formal title of the head of state" to how you want the new head of state's title and name to appear (eg. King Percy XVI). |
