Details
Nation[?]: Bürgerrepublik Dorvik (Dorvik)
Seats[?] in Staatsrat (State Council)[?]: 0
Color[?]:
Description[?]:
The Liberty and Democracy Party stands for strong personal liberties on all aspects of our lives, be they personal or economic. We support free markets, free trade, civil rights and freedoms, personal responsibility, and accountability in governance. On the issues: -We support a drastic reduction in the national budget. The money is best used by private individuals than by bureaucrats. -We strongly support a balanced budget. All spending is taxation either on future earnings or present earnings. Budget deficits cause inflation, which ultimately hurts the average Dorovikan. -We support drastic reductions in taxes on savings, property, wealth or any kind of income. Taxes on income are tantamount to declaring we own the products of the People's labor and we allow them to keep a percentage of it. We support taxing consumption and land use instead of income. -We support a non-interventionist foreign policy. Entangling alliances abroad risk our sovereignty and are too costly and resource-draining. We should maintain a strong military, but avoid using it for purposes other than self-defence. -We support heavy decentralization of power, in order to promote accountability of governance. |

Random fact: Did you know you can change the official name of your nation? All you need to do is draw up a new name that is in accordance with the Nation Renaming Guide, pass a bill proposing the name change with a two-thirds majority and then post a request to Moderation on the "Renaming Requests" thread. You can change city and region names in this way too. |
