Kalistan-Lodamun Naval Cooperation Treaty

This treaty was drafted in August 4286 by the Grand Nationalist Fraction.

We,
the people of People's Republic of Kalistan and 2nd Great Democratic Republic of Lodamun,
declare that:

there will be a profound cooperation between our nations within our respective EEZ as stated in the Law of the Sea.

Art 1:
Each nation shall hold final responsibility for its proper EEZ.
Art 2:
The EEZ's of both nations shall be combined in one large binational EEZ.
Art 3:
Both nations shall take measures to ensure the safety and security within the national EEZ. Each nation can ask for the other nation's support in executing this task.
Art 4:
Each military ship, or each armed ship for that matter, conducting tasks within the boundaries of the EEZ and under rules of this treaty shall be released of the mandatory DIPCLEAR request. Courtesy however would demand these vessels to inform the other nation's authorities.
Art 5:
Each nation shall provide a number of ships, to be determined by the Ministers of Internal Affairs, to conduct duties in the EEZ. If one nation should for any reason not be able to meet with that number, it is to inform the other nation and request support from the other nation. Any military ship not involved in the task force still falls under the DIPCLEAR regulations.
Art 6:
The Ministers of Internal Affairs shall meet from time to time to evaluate and ameliorate the planning of this combined task force.
Art 7:
The expenses shall be bourn by the nation itself. There will not be a common pool or combined budget.
Art 8:
The task force has the duty to make sure the binational EEZ is a safe and secure place. They will conduct SAR operations when necessary. They also will be executing investigations of ships crossing our EEZ. These investigations can be: hailing, boarding in order to check paperwork and cargo, escorting for any reason, diverting a ship to a port or outside the EEZ, ...
The taskforce can also be implemented in environmental survey.
Art 9:
In case of disaster of any kind, the Head of the nearest coastal station will be in charge of the operation until the Minister of Internal Affairs of the nation of which the disaster is occurring in its EEZ takes over. In case of disaster the Minister of Internal Affairs of the other nation shall act as deputy.
