Message | We need to protect people from lies! We simply cannot trust the media and groups to simply be honest at all times. If the Media is honest, then this will do nothing, if the media is not honest, then this will stop untrue allegations, and racial hate rants. |

Message | We concur. The media is the voice for the people, and must be controlled so that the knowledge of our people does not become stagnant. |

Message | We are totally in agreement. Unfortunately we notice that the larger party and their satellites try to hold under control the media! |

Message | Even if the bigger parties were going to try and control the media, this bill would limit that! This bill is against the publishing of lies and untruthful information only! By passing this bill it would limit any party trying to take control of the media by only allowing them to publish factual information. |

Message | God, that above "debate" is just a giant circle jerk. "Even if the bigger parties were going to try and control the media, this bill would limit that! " Actually it is the smaller parties that are trying to control the media by forcing them conform to the standards of whatever it is that you people stand for. None of the bigger parties have suggested that we establish standards for the free (note: FREE) press to have to fit in with. "By passing this bill it would limit any party trying to take control of the media by only allowing them to publish factual information." What's your definition of truth? Factuality? Can such concepts be established in an objective fashion that doesn't rely on today's political paradigm of the Baltusian social discourse? Aren't such things just human constructs from a modernist world gone insane with its own hubris, arrogance and materialism? "The only thing you would fear if you dont pass this bill, is the truth!" No we fear that small aprties will use the "truth" as a method of establishing control over the media. No one's trying to ban the truth: we're just flooding it out with a series of much more entertaining lies. |

Message | If something has a factual base, then it can be reported. If it has no factual base, then it should not be allowed to be published. Its a measure against any person or body. Be it a political party (big or small) corporation or individual, something must have a factual base to be published. |

Message | "If something has a factual base, then it can be reported. If it has no factual base, then it should not be allowed to be published." See this is the problem. Who decides what constitutes a "factual" base? Its all well and good to cite the "truth" but as soon as you start to define these concepts, you restrict them and the free press. "something must have a factual base to be published." So no fiction novels any more? |
