MessageThe only compromise we would be willing to make with Article 2 would be to allow individuals to own firearms as long as they do not have a history of dangerous mental illness or a violent criminality. Though we believe that most citizens should be allowed to own firearms for protection or sport, there are simply certain individuals who would pose a very likely danger to other citizens if they owned firearms. Minor restrictions could help prevent firearms from falling into the hands of some of those individuals.
